Prestige AcousticPrestige Eclipse Auditorium Guitar with All Solid Spruce and Mahogany Construction and a Fishman Matrix Ellipse Blend Pickup. I am a big fan of these guitars as they are great instruments and an amazing value.

These guitars can compete with Taylor or Martin and come with a smaller price tag. I have sold and bought many acoustic guitars, but this one is a keeper.

Prestige Guitars are fine guitars that sell for affordable prices. They hail from Vancouver, BC, Canada. Their acoustic guitars are all built as an Auditorium style guitar with a beveled Venetian cutaway. All the woods in these guitars are hand picked in Vancouver from the same wood suppliers as several other high end manufacturers. The C&C work, routing and painting are done in one of Korea’s finer manufacturing facilities. Then all assembly, electronics, fret work, leveling, crowning and final touches takes place here in their Vancouver, Canada factory on all the models.

This guitar is made with a spruce top and mahogany back and sides. The Mahogany they use is actually Khaya. Its an exotic wood out of Africa. Sounds really crisp and clear. Looks absolutely gorgeous. Traditional Honduran Mahogany has a mid heavy tone. Kaya produces a brighter more clear tone. It has the Fishman Matrix Ellipse Blender pickup system that incorporates a piezo under saddle pickup and a microphone.

Known as “The Studio Guitar”, the combination of Mahogany back and sides, with a spruce top produces a layered array of thick, present midrange Tone. This combination allows for thick mellow tones with full dynamics and projection. Each Top is hand selected Solid Spruce grown in beautiful British Columbia, Canada. The back and sides are solid book matched Mahogany, chosen for both its appearance and acoustic integrity. The ebony fingerboard is fitted with nickel silver frets, leveled and finished by hand for perfect playability and intonation. The sound hole and perimeter of the top are inlaid with hundreds of pieces of beautiful abalone shell, while Figured Maple and Padauk binds the body, beveled cutaway, fingerboard and headstock.

This guitar is a joy to play for finger style or strumming. The neck shape and stain finish makes for some nice playing. The workmanship is fantastic.

Prestige also makes the Eclipse Acoustic is some other tone wood combinations such as Cedar/Rosewood, Spruce/Rosewood and Koa.
