I was enjoying my Voyage-Air TransAxe TelAir VET-2 folding Telecaster and the mods I did so much I could not help myself. I picked this Voyage-Air TransAxe Belair Limited Edition at good price. This one is said to be a limited edition, whatever that means and looks to be inspired by a vintage Gibson Les Paul Special in “TV Yellow” no less! But I thought it was very cool. Two of my favorite guitars (my first good guitars) are Fender Telecaster and Gibson Les Paul Special with P90s.

First step was to swap out the stock tuners for Grover Mini Rotomatic Locking tuners. This makes changing strings easier and improves tuning stability. Guitar needed a setup as well.

Description from Voyage-Air:
The Voyage-Air Guitar TransAxe Belair VER-1 LT Limited Edition captures the vibe from the earliest days of the electric guitar. This Limited Edition guitar has a stunning semi-transparent high-gloss “TV Yellow” finish, and wears a deeply-patterned tortoise pickguard.

For the period-accurate tone, this guitar is fitted with two custom Tonerider “Vintage 90 Soap Bar” pickups, and a three-position toggle switch. The tone is warm yet articulated, and has punch and sustain that is more than surprising.

Fitting its Limited Edition status, this guitar has deluxe features ordinarily found on much more expensive instruments: solid Alder wood body, solid Canadian Maple neck topped with a solid Rosewood fingerboard, mother-of-pearl fret position dots, and a bridge that’s adjustable for individual string intonation and height.

The revolutionary design makes traveling with a guitar a breeze. Easily fold the guitar in half for easy storage inside the custom backpack carrying case. When you’re ready to play it, unfold-insert the bolt and it’s nearly in tune.

Only 250 of the Voyage-Air Belair Limited Edition guitars will be produced, and each will have a special, sequential serial number to reflect this special edition. These are instant collector’s items: the first full-size folding electric guitars, and the first Limited Edition guitars from Voyage-Air. (I just don’t know anybody collecting travel guitars).
