1967 Cameo 1402T Violin 6-String
SOLD
1967 Cameo 1402T Violin shaped 6 string guitar made in Japan. This guitar was also sold with the Aria nameplate. These are a bit rare and have that ’60s vibe. No way these complete with the Fenders and Gibsons of the era, but they are cool looking guitars and likely highly influenced by Hofner Basses.
This Cameo is light-weight and really comfortable to play. It features a tremolo that is not bad. Back in the day these Japanese made guitars with their weaker pickups, were pretty much overlooked by any serious guitar player. We can thank Sir Paul for popularity in the 60s of violin-shaped guitar.
I picked this up so I could have a 6 string mate for my Hofner Beatle Bass.
OK, the main reason I grabbed this one is that Susanna Hoffs has one. One day I would love to add her iconic signature Rickenbacker to my collection as well.
Susanna’s Cameo guitar is featured in the ‘Picture Me’ video.
My Cameo is in fantastic condition like hers.
