Gretsch 6120 Reverend Horton Heat
Gretsch G6120RHH Reverend Horton Heat signature model was designed and built to the Reverend Jim Heath’s specifications. Features include a unique combination of 1955 style Gretsch western motifs and 1958 pickups and control set up. TV Jones classic pickups, pinned Adjusto-matic bridge, Sperzel locking tuners, and clear pickguards are standard equipment on these models.
I thought the RHH 6120 had all the features I wanted and that is why I bought this over the other 6120 models Gretsch offered. The first year for the Gretsch 6120 Reverend Horton Heat signature model introduced at Winter NAMM in 2005. Features Gretsch 6120 that were typical for 1955 mixed with 1958-style TV Jones Classic Filter’Tron pickups, 2.75 deep body with a nitrocellulose finish and ebony fretboard.
Gretsch 6120 was put back on the map by Brian Setzer and was the favorite axe for Eddie Cochran, Chet Atkins and Duane Eddy. Looking at it and you can hear the twang!

This guitar was made at the Terada Plant, Japan in November 2005
The locking tuners make string changes a snap and is much appreciated with a guitar with removable bridge. The bridge on this guitar is pinned so it does not get easily moved around and ruining intonation which can be an issue with many archtop guitars.
This Gretsch 6120RHH has been one of my favorite guitars in my collection. It is totally stock as it needed nothing. The ONLY change I made was adding a Callaham Upgraded Main String Shaft so the Bigsby is now string-thru for easier restringing.
