Little Crow Kestrel guitar custom built in Australia. Very cool guitar built one-by-one down under!

The Kestrel is the result of consultation with both Justin Johnson and Shane Diiorio about a possible new model, with both leaning towards the double cutaway semi hollow style, and Justin suggesting the Filter’tron style pickups. We must say these pickups by TV Jones really do take this guitar into different sonic territory. Listen to the demos by both Justin and Shane and you’ll see what we mean. While definitely leaning towards the classic rockabilly sound, these pickups are so responsive that with some judicious EQ, they won’t disappoint in a very much broader musical spectrum.

  • Mountain Ash neck with two way truss rod
  • Sheoak fretboard with oversize medium frets (#152)
  • Gotoh locking tuners
  • Mountain Ash body (semi-hollow) with Maple cap and back with binding
  • TV Jones Filter’tron Classic pickups
  • 2 Volume, 2 Tone and 3-way toggle switch
  • CTS Emerson pots, treble bleed circuit, orange drop cap
  • Bigsby
  • Wilkinson roller bridge
  • Gotah straplocks
  • Oiled finish

I saw Justin Johnson at Summer NAMM 2017 killing it playing a shovel, yes a shovel. Justin is an amazing guitar player and with his influence in designing this guitar made me pay attention. I have been watching both Justin and Shane’s YouTube videos for several years.

Dealing with Dave Street who basically IS Little Crow, was simple and a pleasure. He builds to order, some nice unique guitars.

The Little Crow Kestrel is a nice resonant unique guitar that is well built and plays wonderfully.
