ProAnalog Devices Manticore Overdrive is handmade, boutique guitar effects pedal by Scotty in the USA and come with a limited lifetime transferable warranty. This pedal is an ALWAYS-ON pedal for some owners.

The waiting list for ordering this pedal is not anywhere as bad as Analog Man’s King of Tone pedal which can take almost 2 years… But the Manticore became so popular so fast it caught Scotty off guard. Took about five months for this one to arrive. Pedals with this long wait sometimes end up being sold on REVERB for 2-3 times the price which only adds to the mystique I guess making players feel they have to own one right away. I ordered this pedal direct from Scotty and waited until he caught up on production. Been on the King of Tone waiting list for over a year already….

So was it worth the wait… Worth the cost… Match the hype…? Damn right it was. Manticore can easily become a classic most-sought pedal. It improves your guitar and amps sound without masking its tonal attributes… Some say transparent, but that is overused I think. The ProAnalog Devices Manticore Overdrive is just plain awesome!

The Manticore comes in either SILVER or GOLD colored enclosures. According to Scotty, ALL Manticores are electronically the same, there are absolutely no differences in them tone wise. The only difference is in the color only, GOLD or SILVER. I went for a GOLD one. There is quite a waiting list as these are made by hand one-by-one and are in demand. Worth the wait!
