Rustler Telecaster
Quite a rare Telecaster style guitar. Rustler only made about 80 guitars (in different styles) before closing their doors. This 1993 Rustler TL model 4021 was built in Mason City, Iowa by Chuck Caponi in 1993. Maple neck with rosewood board. Neck is slimer profile and a 12″ radius, with jumbo frets. Embossed leather sides with brass conches. Matching guitar strap included. Love the western style. Reminds me of a Gretsch Roundup.
Set up with Harmonic Design pickups (super90 bridge / vintage + neck) tone control fender TBX.
Tweed style case has the “R” brand painted on to match the real “R” branded on the body. (SN006) on neck plate with “rustler” engraved making this a very early one. It features a Fender Telecaster style headstock. Later Rustlers have different headstock probably due to Fender discovering these. This is an early one in fantastic shape.
The Rustler guitars are nicely build. Fret work was great and the hardware is top notch. Great sounding Telecaster style guitar. Only wish I could chase down another one, but these almost never come up for sale. I chased this one for over a year before being able to buy it.
I think these are very cool and unique guitars. If I find another one I would snatch it up in a minute.
