ZVEX Effects Vertical Vexter Box Of Rock

This Box of Rock™ simulates Zachary’s favorite amp turned up all the way, a 1966 Marshall® JTM45. The tone control adjusts brightness and there’s a high-headroom low-noise boost.

A favorite pedal of J. Mascis of Dinosaur Jr, the Box of Rock is a clean boost and distortion housed within one unit. Designed to emulate the tones of a classic overdriven Marshall, the Box of Rock sports separate footswitches for boost and distortion, a streamlined four-knob interface, and Zvex’s signature “Distortron” distortion circuit.

ZVEX pedals are usually available as US made hand painted one-of-a-kind “works of art” or a bit less expensive Vexter made in Taiwan version that have silk-screened graphics. Both versions feature the same circuits and mostly the same components inside. The original US release of the Box of Rock pedal was an a horizontal form depicting a Marshall JTM-45 head that the pedal was inspired from. Although horizontal and hand-painted are very cool and sexy. It adds to the cost and might not fit all pedalboards. I opted for the less expensive vertical version of this awesome pedal. If the sound of a cranked Marshall JTM-45 is you thing, you will love this pedal!
